    Isn’t building a Marketplace tough?

    • Anh Chau
      Oct  25TH,  2016

Until now, the challenges have been twofold: getting your buyers & sellers, and building out your site. But now you don’t need to worry about the second challenge since MarketEngine has you covered.
Now, you can focus on gathering a community of buyers and sellers. No need to stress about the rest.

Do I need anything other than this plugin/theme?

    • Anh Chau
      Oct  25TH,  2016

      Hi David,
MarketEngine is a free plugin at this time. You may also want to purchase our Premium version in the future to add more features to your marketplace.

Does this plugin work with WooCommerce?

    • Anh Chau
      Oct  25TH,  2016

      Hi,
Unfortunately no. WooCommerce is similar to our MarketEngine. Basically, these are 2 independent plugins with 2 specific way of operation.
Choose only 1 in these 2 plugins is enough for necessary features in a marketplace.

Is your markeplace plugin compatible with FreelanceEngine so I could have both functionalities? When will your Pro version be available and what extras will it have?

    • Anh Chau
      Nov  10TH,  2016

No, you don’t need MarketEngine when using FreelanceEngine.

FreelanceEngine has been developed as a complete solution for building a freelance marketplace with all its functions packed inside the theme itself.
On the other hand, MarketEngine is developed to lay a solid foundation of an effective marketplace. We can then adapt from that ground to build up a product marketplace, a service marketplace, or a classified marketplace… You got the idea.

MarketEngine Pro mostly helps expanding the things you can do with MarketEngine, rest assured that MarketEngine Free aims to provide a marketplace with a complete proper interaction flow already.

      Thanks for the question, Daniel.

    • Anh Chau

Yes, you can use this plugin to build a marketplace for physical products. MarketEngine is built to serve popular marketplace types, and currently we are focusing on product and service marketplace.

        Hi Anh Chau,
Can we set marketengine for just posting an advert like classifiedengine?

        • Anh Chau
          Nov  10TH,  2016

          Sure thing, Walter.
MarketEngine Free provides two models of “order types” for the buyers: “purchase” & “contact”.
If the listing has the “purchase” type, buyers are able to order & pay for it.
If the listing has the “contact” type, buyers are able to contact the sellers for more information about it, making it perfectly fit the classified business model. The awesome part is that we build a dedicated inbox” section for sellers and buyers to process this type of interaction.

Hi, i am looking for this kind of plugin, i need to know few more info please.
    1. how many payment getway it will support?
    2. how site owner will get the profit?

    • Anh Chau
      Oct  26TH,  2016

      Hi Nala,
PayPal is available from the very first free version.
Profit will come from commission fee charged over each order on your marketplace. Though it’s the only revenue stream integrated in Free version, commission fee is the most popular monetizing method in marketplace.

Is it possible to allow sellers to rate customers? Is there an add-on for that?

    • Anh Chau
      Oct  26TH,  2016

Thanks for your question. At this stage of product development, customers can review sellers but not the other way round. But we’ll surely take your idea into consideration for further improvement.

Hi, does this theme allow users to edit the pages on the front end of things?

    • Anh Chau
      Oct  26TH,  2016

Settings for MarketEngine are made in back-end, not in front-end. That said, almost settings are technical ones, so there’s nothing to do with the front-end.

Hello. Is it possible to not charge a commission and let the vendors receive full payment instantly after the buyer purchases? And I dont need an paypal account for this?

    • Anh Chau
      Oct  26TH,  2016

      Hi Lucien,
It’s up to you to charge commission fee or not. If no commission fee is set, vendors will receive full payment for their service.
However, PayPal API still needs to be set up to make sure the transaction between buyers and sellers go on smoothly.

        • Anh Chau
          Nov  10TH,  2016

Well, for the Free version only PayPal is available. But of course we will provide support for more payment methods in future, for example Stripe, Braintree…

Will it work properly (styling, etc) with the Divi theme ?

    • Anh Chau
      Nov  10TH,  2016

      Thanks for the question, BBM.
We build the plugin with WP coding standards so it should work fine with most themes. Even better, we also plan to develop dedicated style support for Divi & X theme in near future!

  • Christian
    Nov  09TH,  2016

    Looks really nice!
I cant seem to figure out how it works. I understand that it’s a plugin, but what kind of theme would it work with?

    • Anh Chau
      Nov  10TH,  2016

Thanks for the comment, Christian. MarketEngine is a plugin that lets sellers post listings and sell products/services to buyers on your site, which gives you commissions on each of those orders.

MarketEngine is built with WordPress coding standards and should work with most standard WP themes. However, we also build a free theme going with it to clearly demonstrate its main flows. We also plan to build style support packages for some popular themes, such as Divi or X theme. You got the idea!

    looks nice..
note >> shipping is always an issue with multi vendors..
    and 1 page checkout please

    • Anh Chau
      Nov  10TH,  2016

Shipping is not included yet in this first version. Mostly because it is an important issue with many aspects to cover, especially for multi vendors. We have plan to progressively implement this feature in future versions.

Regarding the checkout process, yeah it’s gonna have a smooth simple flow to maximize the conversion rate for the sellers & the market owners.

      Thanks for writing in, Mas.

    Hello,

Can a vendor send a customized quote via the messaging system?

    • Anh Chau
      Nov  18TH,  2016

Yes, that’s the plan for the Inquiry feature of MarketEngine. The seller send the offer to the buyer after the communication and the Buyer can purchase it the same way as ordering in the first place.
It’s not ready yet in this coming version, though. But it will be rolled out in the near future.

Thanks for writing in, Rob. 🙂

    Hello,

Can this be used for a digital download market place ?

    • Anh Chau
      Nov  18TH,  2016

Not in this coming version. But we have it in our roadmap and plan to roll it out in the first quarter next year.

Sounds promising, this might be the very plugin i’ve been searching for… Is there any development notes regarding the Digital Content side of it that you can share? as id like to know if it is something i can use for the project i have been developing

  • Rob
    Nov  21ST,  2016

    Very excited. Questions:
    1. Will you be able to charge a different commission fee to each vendor? Or will every vendor be subject to the exact same rate that you set?

    2. You mentioned in the blog that using this plugin would provide similar functionality o fiverr. Will customers be able to post job request and vendors submit bid to the customer?

    3. What are some of the added functionalities that will be present in the premium version and what’s the release date estimate?

  • Tom
    Nov  24TH,  2016

After demoing the free one I have a few questions,

Will the paid for have a shopping cart?
For the digital downloads, will you be able to “add to cart” and then when download add all the files in to a zip folder?

  • James Smith
    Jan  10TH,  2017

    This looks promising.
Will you add a product type like booking or tickets?
Commission per vendor would also be nice, just like downloadable products.
I’m really curious to see how inquiry will work.
Are you thinking of making it to work with multisite and buddypress?

Would you be interested in receiving commits through github?

      Hi Felix,

Regarding your question, our plugin hasn’t supported vendors to seller downloadable products.

      Hope it helps.

      Thank you.
