Jobseekers got their keys to hide or unhide some details on their profiles with the Anonymous profile feature we released last week. This week’s update, JobEngine v2.2, covers a sweet feature that caters more to the admins. We know many of you have been waiting for this; thanks for your replies on our blog posts. So here comes Pay-to-View Resumes.

The very name implies what the feature is – employers who wish to view resume details will be required to upgrade their account. Of course, it would require payments.

Admins can manage this function with Enable and Disable buttons on Engine Settings > Resumes > Payment.

Everything works the same when this function is disabled – anyone can view resume details. When enabled, all users are still able to view the resume listings but need to upgrade their accounts to view the Resume Detail page.

Just a note: Having an upgraded account doesn’t change how the anonymous profile works.
If a jobseeker sets his profile to anonymous, only companies that received his job application can view his full resume.

The whole Pay-to-View Resumes process – from admins creating a payment plan through employers making payments to admins approving and rejecting upgrade account requests (for Cash payments) – works very similar to that of posting jobs.

Creating Payment Plans

In creating payment packages, there are four fields to populate but only two are required: Price and Duration (number of days the employer can access resume details).

In the payment plan listings, you can edit and delete plans, as well as reorder them.

Upgrading an Account

When an employer tries to view a resume, he will be prompted to upgrade his account to premium. He has to go through the same steps as when posting a job.

1) Choose a payment plan
2) Register an account
3) Select a payment method

The account stays premium based on the number of days indicated in the chosen plan. The employer can check the remaining days his account is on premium by going to his Dashboard.

Approving/Rejecting Upgrade Account Requests

Especially Cash payers, admins can approve or reject their accounts in Pending Users’ list. Go to Engine Settings > Companies > Pending Users to view the list.

JE Coupon and JE Stripe

No new features for JE Coupon and JE Stripe as of yet but if you are now using WordPress 3.6, you will need to update both plugins. We have fixed the compatibility issues of these two extensions.

This is great news. You guys are really wonderful. I am pretty sure This theme will surely be the best all the time. Thanks for such a great job.

Waiting for feature of auto posting to Free Job Boards like, indeed, simplyhired. Also waiting for customized Facebook Job Board at least as an extension.

    Cheers

Thanks for your compliment, @mallickwillaim:disqus! We’re still having many things worked on at the moment, but the auto-posting feature you mentioned has already been included in our road map and may come in a few weeks! 🙂

Agree with @mallickwillaim:disqus – your regular (weekly?) updates will ensure you offer the best theme – beating more established WP job themes.

On another note, It would be great if you started selling child themes or created a marketplace (like JobRoller) where developers could sell their own child themes, so that not all JE job boards looked the same. This would no doubt kill your competition. 🙂

@2022c606a03b59e5e07abd8905d7a07b:disqus: Yeah we’re trying to keep rolling out our weekly updates again, after temporarily slowing down to work on the jobseeker module a few weeks ago. Thanks for the encouragement!

Also thanks for the great suggestion. We’ve been thinking about the marketplace but it won’t be ready soon, since we’re still having some more prioritized things to work on. Well, we’re looking forward to creating one in the next couple months.

Hi @disqus_n5tJ3iFkAG:disqus, the marketplace is not ready at the moment yet. We’ll announce the news as soon as we launch it. Thank you for your concern.

Please consider including the actual changed files changlog.txt file in the zip download, or separately in our account section. I dont want to keep emailing every weekly update to find out which core files have been changed, as I use a customised child theme. Keep up the good work. Thanks 🙂

    Hi Anh,

Just for your consideration: When I have activated payment mode for resumes, the website of the candidates is still visible in the listings. This means that recruiters could actually bypass the payment and navigate directly to the website of a candidate. Also, by showing the real name of the candidate, you could easily go into Linkedin and find the contact details here.

Thank you for doing such a wonderful job with this theme!

    Cheers, Tim

Thanks for the suggestion, Tim. We will reconsider the feature and think of how it should be improved.

    Hi There,

    Please guide for the solution.
    Regards

Hi Mallick, could you please check if your WordPress version is 3.6 at the moment? JE SimplyHired is not yet updated to be compatible with WP 3.6 and that may be the reason. We’re rolling out updates for all extensions tomorrow to fix this compatibility issue.

Otherwise, please try sending an email to support@enginethemes.com to request for our direct support. Would you mind also sharing why you couldn’t access the our Help section? Thanks.

Thanks for fixing compatibility and giving timeline. It helps to plan ourselves as well.
        Regards

Hi Mallick, the updates has been rolled out now. 🙂

Thanks for the update but in Firefox’s latest version, on the Mac, I refularly have problems trying to go within administrative functions, such as /wp-admin/admin.php?page=et-resumes#section/setting-content in the “resumes” option.

I know you’re using AJAX to its fullest but isn’t there a way add BUTTONS to “save” ou changes and move on to the “next logical step” or simply, to have the AJAX make sure that when we click on an option, that’s it’s actually FORCED to go there, for real?

AJAXed menus and savings of the forms have been a real issue and continue to be. Please look into upgrading this so that navigation can perform as it should. Switching to other browsers like Safari and Chrome doesn’t help. Even the Internet Explorer 9 compatibility mode in Safari doesn’t help… nor does actually trying to navigate using a PC!

So yes, this issue is important and needs to be fixed… with better administrative navigation system.

    Many thanks for fixing this!
