MicrojobEngine WordPress micro jobs theme development is reaching its last phases, aiming at becoming the most convenient and reliable micro job marketplace platform solution.

Fiverr, Uber, AirBnB, or Thumbtack, you must have heard of these big names if you have interest in growing opportunities in the current on-demand economy. These service providers have successfully built two-sided marketplace platforms which connect both buyers in need of a service and sellers who offer it.

If you are nourishing an idea of building the platform alike those big names, the proper solution you need, as mentioned in our previous post, must cover the two latter problems: “convenience” and “reliability”. You may simply hire developers and start everything from scratch, but this decision will surely cost you around ten thousand dollars or more. A much better way is to find a provider who gives you an all-in-one service marketplace platform crafted exactly for your purposes. The choice is obvious.

I think it is a cool theme. Looking forward to it. Btw, I would like to know if MicrojobEngine has the message system for sellers and buyers to talk to each other when working on the job?

    • Anh Chau
      Feb  26TH,  2016

      Short answer: Definitely yes!
Long answer: The focus in MicrojobEngine is to maximize interactions between users. And the message center is right at the central of the flows. Sellers and buyers start the communication even before the purchase, to come to agreement with different types of order. We’ll have another post about this flow. But I think it’s awesome and your users will like it!

It’s been a product I’ve asked for months ago and i’m glad it’s going to be released soon! When I purchase MjE my main aim would be to be able to choose designers / developers who can offer the service so that clients will have top notch products.

As a freelance designer myself I would make sure that the system works in a fair way for service providers in order to make sure their time is well invested. This goes also to clients, who will be looking for reliable and quality end products.

Would be great to have a referral system too included with the site. Would help a lot in marketing.

Can’t wait to purchase the theme as soon as it’s out – make sure i’m the first one in the e-mail list please Engine Themes 🙂

      Feb  26TH,  2016

Thanks for the wait, Chris! We’re excited as well.

Yes, finding a suitable designer/developer has long been the problem. To solve that, a successful marketplace must find a way to help high-skilled freelancers promote their brands, right in the platform. A reliable review system is also needed. This has been well researched and covered in MicrojobEngine.

Regarding the referral system, we have already received a few requests for it. We’ll consider to put it in the roadmap for MicrojobEngine. Thanks for the idea!

We’re launching MjE in March and will send you an email for sure! 😉

Looking forward to this. I am curious to know how the theme will handle Escrow type payments?

    • Anh Chau
      Feb  26TH,  2016

      Thanks for the question, Mustafa.

As the result of our research, escrow type payment is not included in MicrojobEngine, at least at the moment. We have a central dashboard for providers to manage their orders and money. The payout process can be operated in multiple ways depending on the marketplace owner, such as monthly or upon provider requests. This gives the marketplace owner more control over the payments and decreases greatly the risks of dispute cases.

So, what do you think? We welcome any ideas. 🙂

      • Chris
        Feb  28TH,  2016

Hi Anh, Will credits be included or will there be personal information shared between buyers and providers in order to get projects paid for?

        Thanks,
        Chris

        • Anh Chau
          Mar  03RD,  2016

          Hi Chris,
Payment from buyers will be sent directly to the site owner’ account and the credits in the seller’s account will increase accordingly. Using credits in account for future payments is included in the next version after MjE is released.

Regarding delivering the work being paid for, MjE supports a section for communicating between sellers and buyers and it can be used to deliver digital results such as files, images, doc… However, for physical products or services required shipping or delivery in real life, sellers and buyers must arrange the work themselves.

      • Mustafa
        Feb  28TH,  2016

Thanks for the response Anh. So as I understand, the buyer sends the money to the site owner’s account, and the site owner sends the seller the money either on automatically set dates, or manually, correct?

        • Chris
          Mar  01ST,  2016

That would be a great way to handle it.

I purchased FreelanceEngine and my project is almost ready to be launched. I would like to know if I find the MicrojobEngine better than the FreelanceEngine, is there a way to switch to the MicrojobEngine and not loose any data?

    • Anh Chau
      Feb  26TH,  2016

MicrojobEngine is not meant to replace FreelanceEngine, since it has a different business model from the one in FreelanceEngine. It’s not simple as switching the theme and transferring the data, you’ll also have to change the business approach to your target market.

With that being said, you will need developers to work on the data transfer itself. At the moment, we’re not supporting this feature in MicrojobEngine, yet.

But why not try it out when it comes out first? 😉

        Feb  27TH,  2016

Hi, do you have built-in integration to have a shared profile between freelancer and micro-jobs?

        • Anh Chau
          Feb  27TH,  2016

Hi R, at the moment we don’t have any built-in integration for sharing profile between FreelanceEngine & MicrojobEngine yet. We want to focus on building MicrojobEngine as a solid solution for service marketplace first. However, more extensions for both themes will be considered soon after we launch.

        Hi Anh Chau,
Thank you for your reply. My project is all about connect digital freelancers in a country in EU with any size of projects. Of course, most of them will be “create a simple wordpress website”. The MicrojobEnine is presented as kind of Fiverr, and this is really interesting. I would like to know what are the key differences between the FreelancerEngine and the MicrojobEngine. The project is not out yet, and I wouldn’t like to miss an opportunity to begin the project with the right tool.
        BR,

    • Anh Chau
      Mar  03RD,  2016

Hi Mars, thanks for asking. At the moment, we don’t plan to integrate the WC payment gateways in our roadmap, which we will publish after MjE 1.0 is released in a couple weeks. But we will surely think about it in the future if there are more demands from MjE users.

will it has rating for buyer as well?

    • Anh Chau
      Feb  27TH,  2016

No, sellers won’t be able to rate their buyers. However, since users in the marketplace will have both seller and buyer roles, they can be rated for the services they provide.

    hi,
first of all, i love every single one of your themes, and i was searching forever and constantly getting fed-up and disenchanted when finally i was introduced to your offerings.
my company represents artists and needing to scale up online to have more of a presence I bought the Power Package, and am leaning heavily toward Freelance which is what i originally fell in love with.
ME sounds so great I am super excited.
my website design consists of three main components–artists, buyers, and in the middle a blog/article contribution, event announcements, discussion area/community where the local art community, colleagues, etc can connect to discuss, collaborate, etc.
Prob I will be in touch again regarding customization of either FE or ME when it is released. In the meantime good work, and can’t wait!

Hi Emily, thanks for writing in and thanks for your nice words. The idea of a platform for artists & buyers is definitely possible to be implemented with MjE or FrE. It only depends on your business approach.
We’re excited too and can’t wait to see you use either MjE or FrE for your site. Make sure to post it into our showcase library. 😉

Otherwise, the next day the theme will “walk” on the internet.

    • Anh Chau
      Mar  03RD,  2016

MjE is a WordPress theme which you can use for your WordPress site to turn it into a micro job marketplace. It is self hosted and therefore you can set it up under your own domain name.
I’m not sure what you meant by “the theme will walk on the Internet”?

    Hi,

I have plan to buy your MJE themes , but i have few question, if there have manual action ?
i can’t use paypal for payment , so can i regard with local bank payment ??

if someone buy Member Plans with local bank transfer , if can be ok?

    Sorry for my English
    Thanks

    • Anh Chau
      Mar  03RD,  2016

Thanks for asking. We include a “cash” option for payment in MicrojobEngine. You can use this option and manual approval to get your platform running. The credit system is built in already, and users should be able to purchase credits in the future.
Don’t worry. We’ll publish our roadmap when we release MjE. 🙂

  • Mars Amirov
    Mar  03RD,  2016

Photo Themes can already be found on the Internet. As you can see they accept Paypal. But you’ll not only receive, but also to pay. And that is why a large percentage of transactions will remain in the bank.
Really it was impossible to combine the subject with Woocommerce?
It’s a market and a shop which constantly receives and transfers the money. Especially as the theme for wordpress.

Yes it works as you describe. The credit system helps transaction between users easier and as you pointed out, it does help to keep the money in the site owner’s account. With more insights about building the platform to achieve the “liquidity” state, the site owner will have a great chance to building a success marketplace. 🙂

peopleperhour.com is an amazing full-feature micro job site and I truly hope you can add all that functionality and features. I am certain your customers would pay a bit more if all those features were available. I know I would 🙂

There are a few micro job themes out there, all lack features/functionality that are vital for a sustainable business/marketplace.

I have been playing with your FreelanceEngine Theme for a while however it doesn’t fit my needs for my new business. I then learned about MicrojobEngine Theme which would be perfect. As long as the features listed are available.
I beg you, please use peopleperhour.com as inspiration and create a featured-packed Theme so that we can have a solid profitable business that will attract both buyers and sellers.

I thank you for your time.

And I am looking forward to seem this Theme come to life.

Wow. Thank you for your nice words and your effort in writing a long request with details & guideline like that!
I have read through your list and can recognize most of them in our roadmap already. You can be sure that we’re putting extra efforts into making MjE a well-packed a micro job marketplace solution. The roadmap will be posted after we release the first version of MicrojobEngine.
In fact, we don’t think simply copying a real life business into a general solution is a reliable approach, since not every feature of a specific business is suitable for another one. But we will surely consider feature ideas and suggestions from our community. 🙂

      • Miguel G
        Mar  04TH,  2016

        Thank you!

When do you think you will release the first version?

You are right saying that not every feature of a specific business is suitable for another one, however it is a full-featured solution that makes it sustainable and more attractive to a wide audience.
You can always make it possible for Admin to enable/disable the features to suit their specific needs.

        Cheers 🙂

      Hi Ferhat,

Are you wondering if you could create a similar website to http://armut.com/TalepYap/87 with MicrojobEngine? We don’t know much about armut.com but it seems to be a service marketplace that also let people posts their service requests. If that’s your concern, we think MicrojobEngine could be a good solution. The “buyer request” feature will be included in future versions of MicrojobEngine.

      Hope that helps. 🙂

Hi! Can you please elaborate what are the major differences between the Freelance Engine and MicrojobEngine? I am planning to start a venture which is basically intended to connect buyers and sellers (like peopleperhour.com for e.g.) and I am confused if I should go ahead with the Freelance Engine or wait for the Microjob Engine. I would be better able to make decision if I can understand the difference between these two themes!

    Thanks! 🙂

    • Anh Chau
      Mar  09TH,  2016

      Hi Jimmy,

FreelanceEngine is suitable for building a freelance marketplace where an employer can post his project and freelancers can bid that project. MicrojobEngine is dedicated to creating a micro job marketplace which focuses on small online services. In MjE, a seller is the one that posts his services and buyers will select and place an order.

At this moment, you can experience our FreelanceEngine demo here: https://www.enginethemes.com/demo/freelanceengine/. MicrojobEngine demo will be available soon when we release v1.0 next week. Make sure you subscribe to our mailing list to get updated then. 🙂

Thank you for your response! I think will make a site integrating both of these options! I have already purchased FrE and developing the website using that! I will purchase the MjE as it launches!

I am already impressed and enjoying working on FrE! Looking forward eagerly for 14th now! Great job guys!

Hi, Looks like a good concept, apparently it works more like fiverr.com. Will it also be possible to configure this engine also like taskrabbit.com or airtasker.com, where the service buyer is posting a task request with an approximate budget, and the service sellers are applying for that task. Finally the service buyer selects the right person.

Hi Danesh, the feature you described has already been planned in our roadmap for version 1.1. When we release MicrojobEngine next week, we’ll also include its roadmap. Make sure you have subscribed to our mailing list for getting updated. 🙂

So excited! I have a big plan for this theme. Quick question –> will the site be able to send email notifications when a message is sent on MJE?

Sure Jeff, users will receive email notifications when they have new messages! 🙂

    Hello,

You guys have a nice theme on your hands. I just have some questions – Will I be able to implement a rental marketplace with this theme? And, Will I be able to make a few customizations?

      Mar  09TH,  2016

      Hi John,
We have already received a few requests for a rental marketplace and will definitely consider it for our roadmap. Thanks for the idea! And of course you can customize MicrojobEngine further to suit your needs. We’re actually looking for awesome ideas turned into life using MicrojobEngine. 🙂

Do you have an geo location plugin/API to locate the people closest to your location that can complete a task. Similar to the UBER API found here? https://developer.uber.com/

      Mar  09TH,  2016

      Hi Harv,
The geo feature you mentioned is not planned for MicrojobEngine. However, we have already received a few requests and will surely consider to include it in future versions. Thanks for the idea! 😉

    Hi,
This looks like great theme, signed up to your mailing list so i can purchase the theme when it’s released.
Really hoping it offers similar functionality to air tasker or task rabbit
There are already a few fiverr style Mirco job WP themes out there and by offering similar functionality to airtask or taskrabbit this would make your theme very unique.

Hi James, thanks for your nice words. 🙂
MicrojobEngine will be released next week and we’ll get you notified then. The features you mentioned should have been planned in future versions of MicrojobEngine. But you can double check it in our roadmap when we launch.

    Hi Anh,

Is there a beta version where we can help test the theme before the formal launch? This looks like a sure winner!

    Thanks

      Hi Shakeel,
MicrojobEngine v1.0 will be released next week. We’ve spent countless hours making sure of its quality, but yeah, any help is greatly appreciated! 😉

If I’m using the Freelance engine as a MicroJobs engine right now, how easy will it be for me to switch from that to this new engine?

    • Anh Chau
      Mar  09TH,  2016

      Hi Sukrit,
Since FreelanceEngine & MicrojobEngine follow two different business models, their data are not only structured differently but also very hard to map to the other business model. So I think it would not make much sense to switch the theme using the same data of your current site.
The two business models in fact complement each other, so why don’t you try to build another half of your current business, letting your freelancers to actively sell their services? 😉

    Hello,

This theme looks promising! however, i have a question… does this them have a geolocation feature? Some people may want to find jobs that can be done around there area, so a geolocation feature would be really nice, people would search a radius around them and see whats available around them. Not all jobs are digital / tangible items.. it could branch out into other types of jobs as well, for example, land scaping, cleaning, and other types of services/jobs..

Do job postings have locations? can we see where the job was posted from?

Hope to hear from you soon!

      Mar  12TH,  2016

Hi Katra, at the moment we’re not including geolocation into our roadmap yet. However, there have been a few requests for it, so we’ll make sure to consider it for future versions of MjE.

Thank you for writing in. 🙂

Actually it will be a huge plus because not everyone plans to make a digital jobs marketplace. I will use your theme for a physical task marketplace.

I am excited about this theme so let it come!

This theme looks excellent but I also think geolocation for offline services would open it up for a lot more customers for you… I certainly would be one of them!

Totally agree! I think the location feature should be a must for this kind of solutions. Please, take in consideration including geo location for offline services!

    Hi guys

Really looking forward to the launch 🙂

I wanted to discuss the opportunity for you to develop a Airbnb type Theme.
In this Post you do mention Airbnb, however a Microjob Theme would not a good fit since it has different requirements and functionality.
So, what if you created a really solid, full-featured Airbnb Theme? You can draw inspiration from its site airbnb.com. Or from another awesome site thestorefront.com.
I have been doing a lot of research for the last month on this, and I cannot find a good solid Airbnb script/theme.
There are so many people looking for this type of peer-to-peer rental marketplace theme/script and there are no good options out there. Many are looking to build a nice p2p rental marketplace, but again there are no good options for themes or they cannot afford to have a custom solution coded for them.
You guys seem to be the perfect team to create something like this and I am sure it would be very successful.
I for sure would be your first buyer, as I am looking to have this developed.
I would love to discuss this further with someone from your team, if possible.

    Cheers

Hi. Can payments be processed automatically or would i need to confirm every one? Also, when payment is made will each payment incur a processing fee (assuming it is my paypal account that holds the payment untill the job poster requests a withdraw). My website will be small initially, but will increase to potentially hundreds/thousands of posters. Processing each payment individually would be very time consuming. Otherwise this plugin looks great and exactly what i need. Thanks

The default payment gateways of MjE right now are PayPal, 2Checkout, and Cash. It has not supported to integrate more payment gateways as your requirement.

Hello I’m looking at to purchase your micro job WordPress theme, I’m currently checking if you have geo location, as I’m looking at to build digital and non digital delivery micro job eg. Cleaning service, baby sitting etc. is it possible to do this in your theme? I look forward to hear from you.

      Hello Sky,

Concerning your question, the MjE theme doesn’t have the geo location feature available at the moment. And thus far, we don’t yet have any plans to implement it in the future updates.

However, as you’re looking for a way to delivery job such as Cleaning service, babysitting etc. I would suggest that you check out the Freelance Engine theme by visiting the link below to see if it fits your needs.
