New Post Alert

JobEngine v2.4.2 comes with a “new post alert” feature for admins. In the back-end, a New Post Alert field was added where admins can enter an email address to receive notifications when a new job is posted on his site. This is most useful for those who are always on mobile and want to get notified immediately when an employer posted a new job. Just leave the email address field empty if you opt not to use this feature.

Frontend Customizer for Mobile Version

Whatever header color you don for the desktop version of your site now reflects on the mobile version. JobEngine applied the frontend customizer that makes the mobile version color adaptive. Color change occurs in two areas: 1) main color for the header 2) action color for the buttons.

I did not dare to ask for the ‘mobile color’ feature 😉 Nice to have it 🙂

Thanks, Hans. Maybe this is an even better news for you: we’re starting to work with Xing on an extension for JobEngine for German speaking regions. 😉

Anyways, we can’t say for sure yet about its exact release day.

I love the post alert feature! What I think would be great to have, from back-end too, is new candidates/employers registration email alert. More than being an interesting feature, it can really fuel the team motivation early on. Congrats, you’re doing a wonderful job, and support is exceptionally good!

Thank you for your kind words, @ludobourgoin:disqus. 🙂 They brings great motivation for us.

We tend to keep our settings as simple as we can. Adding too much detailed settings over the years can complicate everything up for new job board owners. However, this is an interesting feature and we’ll consider how we should have it done without making things more crowded. 🙂

These are nice features. Thank you for that. We have been long waiting for any thing that discourage spammers from our website. If you can introduce CAPTCHA for all JE forms, it will be awesome and really much appreciated feature.

    Please share your thoughts.

You’re right, Hammad. We should have a way to help preventing spams in JE more. Captcha is a good solution. It simply works. However, in our opinions, Captcha lowers the UX on your site. It’s also somehow annoying.

We’ll consider the best solution for this issue in an update.

Thank you for your thoughts. Yes it does lowers UX in deed but the problem is when a spammer contact a job seeker, the email goes from admin email address and with proper JE template. User thinks it’s a legitimate email and responds to it.

I had a spammer attack yesterday who sent about 15 emails before I blocked him.
So it will be vital to have some thing to deal with these issues.

I will be waiting for something in future updates.

I agree @anhcv:disqus, CAPTCHA is terrible for UX. What about preventing spams using hidden form fields? http://www.sitepoint.com/easy-spam-prevention-using-hidden-form-fields/

Yeah that would also be a great suggestion. We’ll come with a proper solution soon 🙂

At last 🙂 Thanks for the work on the mobile colour customization! This makes things a lot more simpler for all of us. Still a long way to go, but this is a really great start. Would love to see some swipe actions, and maybe a swoop in sideways menu system featuring the pages (instead of on footer), but this is nice work 🙂

Thanks for the encouragement, Rob. You’re right. This would be a start for updates on mobile version. 🙂

What would be nice to do when you publish updates is to list the concerned files in case we touched up some of them and risk to overwrite some. Thank you for your great work.
