This week is indeed tough for JobEngine and the entire team. Early last week, we were excited that we brought you new great features for your job boards. But those happy hours were too short; we heard that some of your sites crashed while other key features became dysfunctional. So we spent the whole week looking for and fixing those killer bugs.
One major issue that some of you may have encountered was the T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM error which crashed your websites. Well, we provided a hot fix last week to resolve the problem, and it is now included in this latest version.
Another thing is the problem in the JE Indeed and JE RSS Plugins.
The new versions of these two job import plugins got some new features and we’re expecting you will have easier time managing your imported jobs. But unexpectedly, these versions were also greeted with various issues – plugins are not working, job search returns no results, and Delete button is unable to delete selected jobs, among others.
All issues related to JE Indeed and JE RSS should be fixed after you overwrite the old files with the new ones. You may download the latest plugins from your EngineThemes account.
We also have these fixes in our Change Log –
Bug #291: Default widget for Company Profile does not update when company information is updated
Bug #290: Company Website field does not auto-populate and shows an invalid url error
Bug #289: Hide the payment gateways’ settings & only display them when the “settings” icons is clicked
Bug #284: Notifications are not aligned
Bug #280: Setup Wizard – Value in Jobs field in Payment Plans is disappearing after saving a new plan
Bug #279: Setup Wizard – Job Category and Job Types are not displayed automatically after clicking the + button. The page has to be refreshed before they can be viewed.
Bug #277: IE8 error: Input text in almost all menus are not centered
Bug #275: IE8: ‘More Companies’ button does not respond when clicked
Bug #274: Design error: Settings > Branding – Browse icon isn’t centered
Bug #273: Settings > Payment – Value in “Jobs” field in payment plans disappears after saving a new plan
Bug #271: Company Profile and Company & Job Count widgets are not added by default after theme installation
Bug #268: Decapitalize menu items in Engine Settings
Patch #285: Remove “version 1.1” update warning
Patch #276 & #283: Revise texts
While JobEngine’s latest file primarily contains amendments for the site, there is also a minor add-on.
In Settings > Payment > Payment Gateways, we added a Settings icon on the right of each payment processor. Click the icon to display or hide the input fields.
Hi thanks, and good actions taken, but still posting in admin panel missing, and please include the job location selection option in rss feed import and save.
Sorry, Kashif. The unexpected issues prevented us from including the admin support feature in this version. 🙂
Hi Kashif, just a quick notice that JobEngine v1.1.2 has been released and includes the feature you’ve been waiting for. 🙂
Thanks for the update!
Here’s a thought for the next update: please get rid of the “justified” text blocks, especially for the job descriptions and company presentations. Please let alignments naturally resolve to “left” because “justified” just makes everything look stiff and non-natural. At least, on my web site.
I would really appreciate if the “justified” alignment can be dropped or at least, chosen as an option in the preferences. I don’t want to have to mess with this at every update. As you can see, “justified” doesn’t fly too well, with me ; )
There seems to be a problem when posting 2 (or more) blog posts (not jobs, blog posts) where too much white space is inserted below the first post’s excerpt, such as in this page: http://express.vancouverjob.com/category/news/
And like I stated in my previous comment, please do away with the “justified” text blocks, such as the main content in this blog post: http://express.vancouverjob.com/good-jobs-are-out-there/
Aligning everything to the left just looks better. Thanks!
Hi Claude, you should check if there are any trailing spaces in the excerpt of your first post, as I see it’s okay with the other posts.
Regarding the “justified” text block, it’s in fact the default style of the tinyMCE text editor when you don’t choose a specific alignment. Please try to edit the post and change the alignment to “left” to see if the problem is solved. 🙂
