In QAEngine version 2.0.1: Mobile and desktop display is improved, questions can be properly added from back-end.  

[Mobile] Uniform display order of sub-categories in both back-end and front-end

When subcategories were added in back-end (Questions → Category), their display order in front-end did not remain the same. We have fixed this now so the order of subcategories in front-end should be the same as in back-end.

Unnecessary page templates removed

When you create a new page in Pages → Add new, there’s a “Template” section in the right corner for you to choose an appropriate page template. Since the available templates are quite many, some of which are quite rarely used. Thus, we have removed some unnecessary page template to avoid confusion. (more…)

Update: DirectoryEngine version 2.1

In DirectoryEngine 2.1, new email template is added, VC blocks are improved, the theme is better compatible with WPML, and rich snippets for SEO work properly.

ForumEngine latest version 1.6.6 has bug fixes and improvement in social login, mobile version, display and function.

Social login, profile picture update by Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus accounts

  • Facebook:

When users log in with Facebook account, the system will automatically take users’ profile picture on Facebook as their profile picture on ForumEngine.

  • Google Plus:

The social login via Google Plus account is now properly fixed and works well for all users.

  • Twitter:

PayPal. TLS v1.2 upgrade

TLS v1.2 requirement

Payment Card Industry (PCI) has made the announcement that Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and early versions of Transport Layer Security (TLS) will be forever removed from service.

SSL and TLS encrypt the information sent between web browsers and web servers. But, to date, “SSL and early TLS no longer meet minimum security standards due to security vulnerabilities in the protocol for which there are no fixes.”

As a result, all entities, which are using SSL or early version of TLS, must migrate to TLS v1.2 to protect yourself from the current protocol vulnerabilities.

What does this all mean for PayPal merchants?

Merchants and partners use HTTPS to securely connect with PayPal’s servers. TLS protocol is used to encrypt these communications. To ensure the security of the systems and adhere to industry best practices, PayPal is updating its services to require TLS 1.2 for all HTTPS connections. At this time, PayPal will also require HTTP/1.1 for all connections. (more…)
